A description of a great man and a ordinary man

Sun May 17, 2009, 11:59 AM
"Mr. G.K. Chesterton was exquisitely gowned in an old frockcoat, with pockets remplis (filled up or plump) and repoussés (pushed out or away) of numerous books and magazines; his necktie at the diagonal angle now adopted by the best people in London, and his waistcoat..." G.K. Chesterton on himself.

I know it's his own words but they describe the way he looked and the way I frequently look. I thought it was pretty sweet.

Give me miraculous eyes to see my eyes,
Those rolling mirrors made alive in me,
Terrible crystal more incredible
Than all the things they see.

"Every hot girl who can aim a camera thinks she's a photographer. Ooh, you took a black-and-white picture of a lawn chair and its shadowed and developed at Save-On. You must be so brooding and deep."

I like all of God's creation. St. Thomas Aquinas, the great philosopher talks about the transcendentals, they are the things on earth that point most directly back to God. The first and primary is Existence, and it is divided into three parts, the good, the true and the beautiful.

It is these three things in the order of nature that are the most under attack. Truth is being eliminated from school. Goodness, just means you don't step on anyone else's toes, and beauty, Beauty has almost been entirely lost. Nature, butterflies, horses and people are all incredible signs of beauty and art running as far from that as possible. We have even gone past drawing emotions and go straight for chaos.

I love that your pictures still go for beauty.

Sorry for the long response to a short question but as Chesterton says, to answer any question we must digress.

No I thank you for such a well thought comment. I agree with your a 110%! I am glad you look for those things in existence. Because you do, you will find God in his most beautiful, just, and loving state: God's wholeness.

Thank you so much ^.^ You have made my clouded morning a little brighter ^.^!! May God be praised in all that we do (art, proclaiming the truth or anything else).
